Hello,
I’ve been using Shapr3D on a windows PC for a little over a year now; I’m aware of the application being supported on Apple’s iPad. Yet I was curious if the application works on the Microsoft Surface Pro (Tablet).
On paper I believe it would, as the surface tablet is a just a touchscreen laptop simplified (with a stylus) yet I’m seeking a solid answer or close to a solid answer if the application would work and register the pen/stylus of the surface pro.
As my entire ecosystem is Windows based, I’m trying to stick with it for convince.
I have Surface Tablet, Shapr works fine on it, biggest mistake I made is getting the base model, get one with good specs. Mine is a not a ARM model, check the specs page it says Pen not supported on ARM.
The new Surface Tablet is all Snapdragon I believe so I would ask support if the spec page is out of date.
Surface runs hot, I don’t think battery will be good as iPad. Also Hit area is bit narrower compared to iPad.
Thing I like more compared to iPad:
- Pen is little bouncy, feels better
- Bought it so I can run Solidworks and other Window only Apps
- Not locked to MS or Apple store, download directly from Shapr
- I hate the File Management on iPad
- Don’t need to use iCloud like service to transfer exported files, I use the Resilio P2P file sync and it doesn’t transfer in the background.
- Biggest one for me, I can design, export and send it to the Slicer for 3D printing.
