Water, how to visualize?

Water body.shapr (907.6 KB)…
I have tried to visuailize a vessel floating on water. When I not in the visualization mode it sort of looks ok, but when I go into visualisation, I cannot get any resemblence of water.

Hi Ubbe, I to would be interested in this.

Have you designed many boats on Shapr3D?

Thanks

Hi Timk
I am on my first boat application and I am not an expert (yet :))

If you make a container for the water, you could try “bumps” in and out of the top surface using the extrusion and fillet tools. Time consuming but could produce a viable result. One of my curves wouldn’t fillet probably because it was too sharp a corner?

This shows a little better how I did it. I swept the oval shapes through the solid container. Added and subtracted them from the surface.

Not great, but a reasonable likeness to water

Hi there
Thanks for the effort.
My problem was not the shape itself, but the lack of opacity in the visualization mode.
The water actually looks more “watery” when you leave the visualization and return to the normal mode
