What is with this shape that I cannot select to delete

I am making a case to 3D print. I was trying to make some supports under the mounting holes of the lid. At each corner, there seemed to be a different procedure to make what I wanted extruded. In one case, the LOFT function I was trying to use would seem to work in the preview, but when you clicked Accept, it would disappear. I was trying everything and tried the Isolate button. Oh dear… The LOFT turned transparent as per the screenshot attached, and then the whole drawing got screwed. And I cannot for love or money select this transparent block to delete it.

There are weird triangles criss-crossing my model and generally it looks screwed… I went on a deleting rampage to try to find this transparent LOFT but it was getting to the stage I was about to delete the very primitives of the box, even though the transparent block was still there despite being the LAST item I had created, not the first! What the hell is it??

And why does my box now have random triangles appearing in the middle of the model?

I’m using the Free version on MacOS, still assessing which 3D program to use. My time is precious and I need to pick a software that is stable. I also don’t like that I can’t save my files locally, only to the Cloud.

Can you show that on a video?

Do these glitches disappear after restarting the app?

If you can reproduce these issues in a video and attach a project where they can be replicated, then it would make sense to report all of this to support.

Technically, they are stored locally — the cloud is only used for synchronization between devices.

Since I will have to recreate all the supports again, I will try to document the exact steps and will try to make a video of Loft not working.

I did try doing that and it made the triangles appear in different planes and places… And then I tried it just now again due to your suggestion… And LO! The triangles are gone and so it the transparent artifact, even though I did not so anything but close and open the app. What’s up with that??

I see no option to select where these files are stored.

Thanks for your replies.

These kinds of glitches have become a frequent problem lately — I hear about them from time to time. I’ve been trying to catch them consistently to report as a bug, but they appear too randomly.

Despite this, I still hope these issues will be fixed soon, since they didn’t occur before.

By default, all files are stored locally. If necessary, you can choose to offload them and keep them in the cloud only.

FYI Glitches happen in every program not new to Shapr3d. I also encountered that Dark Triangle issue, after a quick inspection thought about it quit the program and reopened and it was gone.

Not in free version.

In free version on a MAC too.

Semantics… only after a project is initiated per project and then not globally. Leaves room for mistakes if you are guided by for example HIPAA or some other type of NDA.

Edit: Looking closer at your dump. Does ‘Remove Download’ remove the in cloud uploaded?! Strange…

Read carefully what I wrote and what you quoted. I never said you can disable the cloud entirely. I said you can offload a project from the local machine and keep it in the cloud only.

Maybe you’re confusing the topic? The discussion about the inability to disable synchronization is in a different thread.

Sloppy of me, you are right. Jumping in from other thread. My apologies!

I have hd that happening quite regularly lately and found the easiest way to get rid of this is to group this item with another, then ungroup and its gone.
