hello everybody. I’m new here and I’m just starting out with pattern design and modeling. I would like some help on how to make a mold to glue this wing, which is made up of two pieces. Superior and inferior. I use the SolidWorks! Thank you very much!
Not sure if this will help. Here’s a method to make a simple core and cavity mold.
The same idea applies if you want to make a ‘jig’ for holding the piece in place for gluing.
Here is my one of wing project.
Gerar Bob, JST!! But, the wing model with winglets is confusing me. What software did you use for modeling? Thank you for your help!
Hello Mike!! Thank you for your help. Yes, I thought about doing the core/cavity this way to position the pieces correctly. However, I am not able to apply this in SolidWorks. Part geometry generates several errors when applying surface and mold tools. And the winglets also made me wonder what the mold would look like in this region.
The airfoil was drawn in rhino from a dat file, the rest of the parts, in S3D.
You can split the winglet section with a body surface, use split body tool.
