In some circumstances, when drawing sketches onto visible faces, the standard colours and contrast can make the sketch lines difficult to see. Might not be the case for everyone and just how I perceive the colours and contrast, but the ability to choose a different default sketch or face colour would be helpful.
I didnât read all 481 messages above mine so I apologize if this has already been suggested. I would like to have folders available at the design file level in order to manage multiple files at a project level. Thanks!
The first one has to do with the information menu that appears when we select an object may it be a line, edge, etc⌠I would be great if that menu is utilize more and made more functional. I could see that for instance be used to change object dimensions without having to drag anything around. It could also be used to scale an object, etcâŚ
My second suggestion has to do with the section tool. I feel the section tool is very limited in its current state and could definitely use some change. It would be great for instance to be able to move, and rotate it etc.
Thank you very much for listening and all the time and effort you are putting in this app! It has improved tremendously since I started using it back a few years ago.
Also really love what you guys have done with folders (helps organise projects better) and makes selection of objects much easier!!
Absolutely agree with being able to save views. Not just points of view but also different combinations of visible objects. Eg, in a building model, saving just the ground floor geometry with everything else hidden.
One thing which I would really enjoy is using my 3DConnexion SpaceMouse to quickly and precisely rotate/pan/zoom. All iPads support USB and the SpaceMouse is (I think) a HID device, so it shouldnât be that difficult.
I found that navigation using fingers on screen doesnât always do what I want, besides these 3DConnexion devices allow for navigating much faster and with more precision, as you can move/rotate in multiple axes at once.
I use the compact SpaceMouse (with Fusion 360 and Solidworks) and I really, really like it. I canât imagine going back to navigating using the mouse.
Drawing on a surface or improvements to the project tool would be a game changer. I am a jewellery designer and my current workflow involves sketching the shapes in 2d and projecting them onto more complex surfaces. Each âprojectâ can take several tries to get spacing and sizing correct. I also have to be careful that the shapes arenât too big because this can result in warping. If there is a better workflow you can suggest, I would love to hear it.
Undo but by step. For example if I make multiple selections, if I undo, everything gets deselected.
Itâd be neat to have a duplicate option for a tool
I know there is a way to make a spiral like tube, but itâd be neat to have an option to be able to taper the shape at the ends instead of just having a tubular spring shape thatâs uniform from top to bottom.
Along with the tri, hex, and octagonal splines, it would be neat to have a star shape that you can modify points with.
Also itâd be nice to be able to move multiple objects into one folder at a time instead of selecting single objects. Or to have the option to select multiple objects and click the folder option and have them fall into the new created folder.
Lastly, having an option to increase the density of the obj upon export would be nice since the topology on the geo isnât the cleanest. I took mine into Zbrush and there are some solutions to fixing the bad topology, but right off the bat if I can export it out of shapr3d at a high resolution it would be nice for printing or rendering without faceting on some parts of the model.
As i have little experience with rendering, I currently take screenshots for concept work and add effects in Adobe Photoshop. I often will need to make changes to the model and reimport a new screenshot, but trying to get the exact same angle for a second screenshot is impossible (at least i think it is?)
Having the ability to save âcustom viewsâ would enable me to instantly revert back to exact same view (or camera angle) that I last used to take a screenshot.
I hope you can see wider value in this, as Iâd love to see this in a future update
First off I wanted to thank you guys for the latest feature dxf/dwg import and export. I believe the feature will help address some of the issues I had with regard to export my drawings/sketches to other apps such as illustrator. Having said that I believe that a make2D (ability to save a given view in a pdf format without doing any type of projection would be very welcome as it would allow a faster and more efficient workflow.
That in conjunction with custom views would be game changer
If you need a more detail on the feature pls let me know and Iâll be more than glad to provide more details and use case!
Other than that I also wanted to ask, Is there any plans to bringing the array feature anytime soon to Shapr3D?
More of a frustration than a feature request: I get very frustrated by hidden sketch folders automatically turning back on when drawing a sketch coplanar with them. Iâve got them off to make a separate sketch. I donât want them on! Lol
/edit: Iâll rephrase as a feature request: please add the ability to have separate coplanar sketches.
Another request, though Iâm sure itâs been said: more robust selection tools. e.g.:
Deselect without needing to zoom out to an empty part of the drawing
Brush selection (paint across objects/faces/edges) to select them
Filterable selection (enable to choose what kind of objects to select. Faces, solids, edges, etc.)
Edge loop selection
Selection fill (given a closed loop of selected edges or faces, offer the ability to select all connected edges/faces on the inside or outside of that loop
Currently to go from a sub-menu, e.g. âtoolsâ, one has to go up to the top menu before going down into another sub-menu e.g. âadd.â To save clicks, you could expand out the âbackâ menu button, when chosen, to show âbackâ and also all sub-menu items; then you could slide the stylus tip over to the item you want.
