The problem that this feature will solve:
When I prepare instruction manuals, assembly diagrams, or product-detail graphics, I need clean 2D line art of my 3D model from a chosen view. At present, getting that artwork into Adobe Illustrator requires extra export/import steps or tracing a screenshot. This interrupts the workflow and can turn the result into a bitmap instead of editable vector artwork.
Brief description of the outcomes that you expect from this feature:
I would like to position the model in any view and use a command such as “Copy View as Vector Linework.” The visible silhouette and edges of the currently visible bodies should be placed on the system clipboard as editable vector paths, using a platform-native vector clipboard format that Adobe Illustrator can paste.
Pasting into Illustrator should produce editable paths on a transparent background, not a raster image. Options such as “visible edges only” versus “include hidden edges,” plus basic line styling, would be useful, but the core outcome is a one-step copy from the current Shapr3D view and paste into Illustrator.
What can’t you achieve without this feature?
I cannot move directly from a Shapr3D view to editable artwork. I have to create a drawing or export a file, take a screenshot, or process the result through another format before Illustrator. This slows down every manual or product-detail illustration and makes iterative view changes unnecessarily time-consuming.
This feature would make Shapr3D much faster for technical communication as well as modeling.
