Duplicate Objects at Once

Does it have to be copy one by one? Repeat the process if I need to duplicate in 100 objects?

I know I can copy 10 first object, then duplicate 10 times, so it will be 100 objects in the end.

But, can we just copy 1 object then type “x100” to get 100 objects at once?

Yes, I have the same problem with a flight of steps where I have to offset each step up and along a particular amount. Also, if I change the design of 1 step, I would expect all the others to change too (as with SketchUp components). Any progress on this?
