DXF Lettering Help

So in the attached picture you will see the DXF i imported. What i currently do is click on every part of the lettering and raise each 3mm. Then click on the large outer part and raise it 3mm so now they are all the same height. I then have to click on all the lettering again and do a subtract from the larger part but leave existing parts so now i have all the lettering separate and visible so i can color it in the visualization mode.
My question is how can i do this much faster or easier than this? It takes me forever to do each letter and then all the other stuff.
My Second picture is an example of what it will look like when im done.
(and FYI, I dont just use text so i cant rely on just using text in Shapr)

Thank You

Tony

Or something like this.

Or combination of both approaches.

That worked perfect, Thank You! I always thought It had to be a separate part to color it and never thought about Projecting it.

Thank you so much!

If you just needed text for visualization we can import images now.
