Extrusion Extent UI

First of all, I wanted to give major props to the devs. I have very high standards for UI and I think the team has done a fantastic job here - the UI is clean and beautiful, and features largely work as I’d expect them to work. I know there’s a lot of controversy between direct modeling with history-based / parametric modeling, but I feel the team has done an excellent job in balancing these often divergent needs.

I have used many CAD programs through the years, spanning both work and personal life and have long held Onshape as the UI gold standard. However, I think Shapr3D may have surpassed them! I tried Shapr3D 2 / 2-1/2 years ago and it was lacking in some areas. Coming back to it now, I’m finding that it largely meets my needs (although true assembly ability remains greatly desired) and have ponied up for a subscription.

Of course, there is still room for improvement. When setting the Extent for an Extrusion, it is extremely annoying that when I select “To Object”, I am not automatically taken to select the object that I want to extrude to. 99.9% of the time, if I select “To Object”, I immediately want to select that object. I constantly find myself selecting “To Object”, then choosing said object, only to have Shapr3D jump out of that feature because I didn’t first click “Fix…”

Also, “Fix…” doesn’t seem like the best word. In keeping with your current labeling convention, it would be better to just label this “Edit…”

The above behavior should also be applied to the Start section. For example, when I choose Start > From Plane, I should be taken directly to select the plane.
