I’m a relatively new user to Shapr3D but have extensive experience with parametric modeling. I’m currently using Shapr3D to design a house. I have modeled the house parametrically but am experiencing severe performance issues.
Creating even the simplest sketches results in a huge slow-down. For example, I click to draw the first point of a line and then the system churns for up to 15 seconds or more (no exaggeration!) before something happens. The CPU on my M5 MacBook Air rockets to over 100%. This is highly repeatable and restarting the app doesn’t help.
I’ve created a ticket with support and their recommended action appears to be to merge my model. Of course, this destroys the history and any parametric relationships, so I’m very reluctant to do that.
What are people finding to be the maximum number of History features before Shapr3D starts bogging down to unusable levels? In my case, think I started noticing these problems when I hit ~200 features (I now have 250+). My features are pretty simple - mostly rectilinear walls and such with no complex surfaces - so I’m surprised (and very disappointed) that this is occurring. Any suggestions appreciated!
