Sorry for the spring design

An other question;
How to extract this 3D curve obtain by Revolve ?
Thanks

Great. Can you share .shapr file?

Not bad, but the issues we’re trying to eliminate here are still present in your version.

Have you seen : How to extract this 3D curve obtain by Revolve ?
Thanks

I have. As far as I know you can’t extract a line, you have to make closed sketch for extrusion. So only way I know is Sweep.

Or maybe I understand your question incorrectly.

Unfortunately, this approach has the same issue the topic starter was trying to avoid.

Ok I see what you are looking for and you found it but at the zoom level that is beyond level of the OP’s version which looked more like a flaw.

Also upload your shapr file as well, its easier to spot with the Zebra, also wana try something.

That’s why I said “not bad”

About the zoom level, I can see it even without zooming I zoomed for screenshot so everyone can easily see there is the problem.

I can upload my file but not sure you’ll be able to open it. And about zebra it shows not every problem that can be seen on render with shiny surface.

Spring (loft).shapr.zip (260.7 KB)

Ya I can’t open it, I think its a different version than mine.

Can you upload a Step, and X_T.

Ya thats what I wana test Zebra vs Render vs maybe Blender Cycles render, maybe Unity/Unreal render too.

Since yours looks good it would be interesting to test with it.

I have noticed the issue you brought up in my other projects and I just assumed it was Shapr Render that is lacking might be good to finally test it.

Yes. I have newer version I know that.

Archive.zip (185.2 KB)

Would be interesting to hear about results.

How can I 3D draw lines to use them as sweeping guiding later?

Technically I don’t believe that is correct, he is creating segments of curve that is angled, if you do that now you need more and more segments to make more accurate.

You would need real 3d Curves to do that which is missing feature.

Since this was a tutorial I choose some other methods but realistically I would do it in another program like Rhino, because with that you really get perfect springy thing because it would be whole curve without segments to make it more accurate.

I think its good, just planes, offset, sweep,

Share your project file

I would also like to see the file, I wonder what the top down looks like.

Since we are getting nitty-gritty, Alex is little off from the top view, that one can be fixed.

It is here..

You have different version as well, X_T and STEP. Thanks!

sorry if anyone can’t open it, latest gamma
Ps Alex, you could😎

This one is the best from pure sweep versions, but joint still a little bit visible
