STEP file

I have been using STEP format to import into my 3d printer slicer for months and a few days ago I tried to import the bottom and top of a case I designed. But only the bottom STEP format could be imported, the top portion I was told didn’t contain any geometry. Both were saved as a STEP file. I had to save it as a 3MF format and then import it. Why now is this any different?

Could you share the files (both .shapr and STEP exports) with our Support team? We’d like to check what’s going on.

Also, what slicer are you using? Did you perhaps upgrade that as well?

I am sending 2 different files, the bat wing file had trouble with the offset walls and extrusion. The raspberry pi case had issues with extrusion, face offset, and moving a plane in or out, and won’t import into my slicer. I know the Pi case is a mess, I pushed the side with the holes in it, 1.5mm in then tried to pull it back which didn’t work. I then deleted that section but as I was trying to build it back the old pushed-in portion kept coming back. At that point, I was super frustrated, and just opened a new design window and redrew the whole thing I am hopeful this helps figure out what is causing the problem, I am using Bambu studio as my slicer, I can import one of the 2 Raspberry Pi case files “the base, but not the lid”
