Any ideas now to create these tricky ridges? They are uneven hight.
Useful but quickly discovered limitations. You can’t actually make the ridges like in the picture using this method.
Is it possible to project a ridge onto the surface and use it as a guide for loft?
Here’s a variation of what @Stephen did.
I too projected a curved edge on the body of the vase. Then I did a Sweep to create the ridge and used the Pattern tool to make 50 ridges.
(My apology for the speed as it was needed so the video would fit inside 10mb.)
This is great thank you. After much tinkering I figured that I had to use the sweep tool but the edge projection is a nice addition that you made. I was trying a combination of sweep and replace face. Basically I create a negative surface using sweep then I create a flat face and use replace with negative surface in order to make a protruding ridge , than use subtract with vase body to trim the excess. Your process is quicker, let me try it out.
