Materials are here!

Yes, that’s planned.

@Red_Rex as a workaround, I’m changing the position of the model in the modeling space then switching back to visualization.

Think like, moving the earth instead of moving the sun.

Just playing.

When zooming in and zooming out on an object ,it was found that his perspective was distorted.

Orthographic views are problematic atm, we are aware of the problem.

If you change the FoW to even 1 degree, it should be fine though.

Testing the last version 5.80.0, light is better so you can get now nice transparency effect with a glass of water.
:+1: thank you and well done Shapr3D

What material did you use for the water?

Hi
I used 100% transparent “Glass - simple” for the glass and “Glass - refractive” for the water, with a few simple tweeks:

  • slight overlap of the water diameter with the glass to avoid interface artefacts
  • filet at the surface of the water to mimic the superficial tension of the water, because it produces important optical effect. Actual shape of superficial tension is concave, not convex, I just made a mistake :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:
  • surface of the water is a little bit conical because again of superficial tension of the water.

And that’s all. :grinning:

Bending gold tonight :grinning:

If you wonder, the answer is yes, it is a sketch wrapped all around the ring.

That’s music to my ears ^^
That has been the missing link for realistic AR using only an Ipad.
The old AR was and is great for visualisation the part in the real world. But materials bring this to another level:)

Btw Visualisation will replace colours right?
But if you want the old ways you just choose default material and colour?

Or would you be able to toggle between colour and visualisation in a setting? Just in case someone preferred the old method?

Distinguishing different parts from each other in an assembly is one example.

Yes

Yes

No, that would add unnecessary complexity to the product without any real use case.

In addition to what Istvan says, we understand that “Distinguishing different parts from each other in an assembly” is a use case that might be needed in certain cases and we will constantly looking for feedback if a better solution is needed for this use case.

Adding a switch would complicate things, we have some other ideas to address the issue (and based on need, we will implement them)

Please add liquid material.

Thank you ;)…

Btw it looks like Cadmio might beat you to Materials in AR ) If I’m not mistaken that is a USDZ/AR symbol in their upcoming 2.0 release tease Insta Story

I would still prefer using Shapr3D , simply because of the added benefit of being able to jump between Render and modelling, without having to start all over with the rendering everytime something changes on the model.

I was wondering if it was possible to write a sentence on gear’s teeth using only Shapr3D :face_with_spiral_eyes:
So I modeled a 16 teeth involute gear and started to write “Gear with embossed text on teeth” on it.
Text wrapping is accurate both on concave and convex (fillet) portions of the teeth. It took me several hours to complete, but the answer is yes, it is possible.
Brush aluminum is great for the rendering

Still looks a little weird considering brushing should be 90 to gear rotation.

Abstraction. Wood and gold floating in the air.

Hi,
I downloaded the beta version but I can’t login and my email and password are correct someone know why?

Thank you for your improvement. The texture of the material has been improved compared with the angle adjustment of light before. I look forward to adding more materials and being more realistic in terms of depth of field and softness of light and shadow. In addition, don’t deform and distort the model when enlarging the perspective.
