The one thing that I keep coming back to other programs like Onshape for is the fact that they have easily importable screws, threads and fasteners. As well as a menu to easily create gears without having to design all the teeth and pattern them, just for it not to work :-(.
It would be awesome to have the tools to do this quickly and it would surely help me and many others in their workflows. Been loving a lot of the recent additions but this is one of the features that I feel Shapr3d lacks (among animations and simulations but that’s crazy complex to add Id imagine).

This really is one of those things you just can’t live without. There’s so much to model when you get into it, this workflow speedup is really helpful. It’s one of those last few “long tail” features that keep me from using shapr3d as my primary.

McMaster-Carr is the website that I import all my screws/bolts etc from, they may well do gears.

I have to agree on this. I use Shapr to 3D print projects, but there are a lot of projects I’ve put on the back burner just because dealing with gears/threads is just a pain when I have to do it all manually or try to import models in from other places. If we could get a tool for involute gears, rack and pinions, worm gear, trapezoidal thread and square thread it would be pretty amazing.
