Thread Tool

Here is the full list of our 2026 releases so far, highlighting the most meaningful improvements.

While we are lagging behind on our goal of 10 new modeling tools, we have shipped quite a few improvements to other areas of the product that directly make the modeling workflow more powerful. Looking ahead, our focus for the second half of the year is to significantly accelerate our output on the modeling tools side as well.

26.0

  • Sweep – Adjust Scale, Orientation, and Twist directly from the Sweep card in History sidebar.

26.10

  • Sketching – Snap and constrain to distant world axes, even when not on default world planes.
  • Import – Import multiple Shapr3D projects at once from the Import Projects dialog.
  • Custom Materials Import – Import .glb files for textured PBR materials into material library.

26.20

  • Screenshot with Resolution – Choose Actual, Double, Full HD, 4K, or 8K output.

26.30

  • Wrap & Emboss – New tool for wrapping sketches around cylindrical and conical surfaces.
  • Section View – Ortho View toggle shows cross-section and visible edges; Saved Views preserve Section View state.
  • Import Options – Advanced preferences for SolidWorks, STEP, IGES, CATIA, and Solid Edge imports.

26.40

  • New Materials – Painted ash, cork, oak, and matte car paint.

26.50

  • Section View – Section Only mode to isolate cross-sections; 2D view with Normal to Section realignment.

26.60

  • Custom Materials from Images – Import .png and .jpeg files as color textures.

26.70

  • Wireframe – Silhouettes in Wireframe mode and around Section View capping polygons.

26.80

  • Decals – Import .png and .jpeg images to place logos and labels directly on model surfaces.
  • Selections – Always rendered on top of geometry; direct selection of sketches displayed over models.
  • Saved Views – Now also capture 2D Section View and Section Only toggle states.

26.90

  • X-Ray mode – New display mode to inspect internal geometry with an Opacity slider.
  • Construction Tools – Moved to dedicated Construct menu; Adaptive UI suggests construction options; more precise alignment with notable points highlighted in purple.

26.100

  • Revolve – Auto-boolean: automatically join, subtract, intersect, or create new body during revolve.
  • Wireframe / Section View – Toggle hidden edges visibility on or off.

26.110

  • Construction Tools – Construction planes and axes can now be created on imported STL meshes.
  • New Materials – Brick, MDF, oak strip and herringbone flooring, and Douglas fir end-grain.

26.120

  • Prusa Slicer Integration – Export directly to EasyPrint or PrusaSlicer from the Export menu.
  • Folder search – Folders now appear in Dashboard search results alongside projects.

That’s an impressive list and I do find some of them useful. I’m actually relieved that the 10 new tools aren’t here yet. I was afraid that the meaning of new was a stretch.

Eagerly awaiting alignment and assembly features.

Although I don’t need the thread tool as much it does appear to be a highly desired feature.
